The 10-Day Trip is where the Birthright Israel story began. Created around a simple but powerful idea – to give every eligible young Jewish adult the opportunity to experience Israel for themselves. It has become our flagship experience and one of the world’s most recognized educational travel programs.
For 10 days, participants travel across Israel with a group of peers, experiencing the country through its people, places, culture, history, food, and everyday life. At the heart of the journey is the ‘Mifgash’ Hebrew for “encounter”- a unique encounter with Israeli peers who join the group, travel alongside participants, and become part of the experience. Together, they share perspectives, build friendships, explore identity, and create a personal connection to Israel and to one another that often continues long after the trip ends.
For generations of young Jewish adults, these 10 days have been a first step toward a deeper connection with Israel, with one another, and with their own identity.
